    Ingredients

YOU WILL NEED:

2 pounds apples
1 lemon juice and one peel lemon skin
3 tbsp sugar
pinch salt
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 cup water

LET'S START:

  • applesauce

Peel:
Quarter apples, core and peel them.
You can use apples which are bruised and older.

SECOND:

  • applesauce

Combine & boil:
Place all the ingredient in a sauce pan.
Bring to boil over medium heat then cover and let simmer for 15 minutes or until soft.

THIRD:

  • applesauce

Finishing touch:
Take the cinnamon and lemon peel out.
Use a wood spoon to crush the apple to make it a coarse apple sauce.

SERVE IT.

  • applesauce

Ready to eat.
Serve right away or store it.
Applesauce goes well with kaiserschmarrn (see my recipe here), yogurt, thanksgiving meal and many more.
