    Ingredients

YOU WILL NEED:

1 2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
6 egg yolks
1 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
dash rum optional

LET'S START:

  • custardcream

Prepare:
Separate eggs. You only need the yolks.
Warm the milk.
Shift flour into small bowl.

SECOND:

  • custardcream

Mix and strain:
Add sugar to the bowl with flour and mix it.
Little by little whisk in warm milk.
Strain the milk mixture into the sauce pan.

THIRD:

  • custardcream

Cook and combine.
Cook mixture on medium heat until cream thickens.
Take off from the heat and add egg yolks. Whisk it constantly.
Then return to the heat for a minute.
Remove from the heat and pour into a medium bowl.
Mix in rum and butter.

FOURTH:

  • custardcream

Store it:
Cover with plastic wrap.
Press plastic wrap onto the custard cream. This will prevent forming skin on the custard cream.
Let cool and store in a cool dry place or refrigerator.
