    Ingredients

YOU WILL NEED:

4 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
8 tbsp unsalted butter
3/4 cup flour
2 cups milk

For Serving:
Powder sugar

LET'S START:

Prepare:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter a 8”x8” cake pan and line it with parchment paper.
Separate eggs.
Melt butter.

SECOND:

Whisk it.
Place the egg yolks, sugar in a medium bowl.
Beat it until pale in color - about 1 minute.

THIRD:

Add and combine.
Add vanilla extract and milk.
Mix it.
Add flour and mix at low speed until combined.
Add melted butter and just combine.

FOURTH:

Beat and fold.
Beat egg whites until stiff peak using hand mixer.
Fold gently the egg white into the flour mixture using spatula.
Do not overwork it. Some chunks of egg whites should remain.

BAKE IT.

Pour and Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
This batter is very liquid.

Bake it for 40-50 minutes until set.
Let it cool completely in the pan.

SERVE IT.

It's teatime.
Cut the cake in nine pieces.
Now you will see the three layers inside.
Sprinkle powder sugar on top.
Serve it with your favorite tea.
